Why storm prep starts before the season.
Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30. Shutters and screens can sit unused for months, and salt air, sand and summer storms are hard on tracks, motors and hardware. A yearly visit before the season means every system has been run, cleaned and checked, and there is time to order anything it needs.
We also make sure you, or whoever looks after the house, know how to close each system. That matters most for second homes and seasonal residents, who may not be here to check on the house themselves.
Here after the install.
Advanced Hurricane Protection is a family-owned company in Stuart that has served the Treasure Coast for over 20 years. The same team that installs your protection can come back every year to keep it working, for homes, condos and waterfront communities.
Storm prep and maintenance: common questions
How often should hurricane shutters and screens be serviced?
Once a year. Annual maintenance is strongly recommended for any engineered shutter or screen system. Salt air, sand and long stretches without use are hard on tracks, motors and hardware, so a yearly visit catches problems while there is still time to fix them.
When is the best time to schedule storm prep?
Before hurricane season, which runs June 1 through November 30. A spring visit leaves time to order a part or make a repair, so every system is ready to close when a storm is forecast. Call (772) 220-1200 to book.
Do you service MagnaTrack motorized screens?
Yes. We provide MagnaTrack certified yearly check-ups and testing for motorized screens, including the Defender hurricane screen.
Do impact windows and sliding doors need maintenance?
Yes, especially near the water. We offer yearly inspection and service of impact sliding doors and windows for waterfront and coastal homes and communities, so they keep opening, closing and locking the way they should.
Do you maintain systems for condos and communities?
Yes. Along with single-family homes, we service hurricane protection for waterfront and coastal communities, including condo buildings. Call us to talk through the number of units and openings.
